Attendance

IMG_4985.JPG

Our school day starts at 8:30am when students arrive and prepare for the day. As buses start arriving from 8:30am, there is a staff member on duty to receive and greet bus students. A yard duty teacher is in the yard on supervision from 8:30am every day.

Classes start at 9:00am with a Check-in Circle. Check-in is an essential part of our Berry Street Education Model by allowing students and staff to learn about their class activities for that day and any concerns can be shared, as well as revisit school values and pro-social skills. Students who arrive late to school need to come to the office first to collect a late pass which they give to their class teacher.

Absences must be advised to the school office by no later than 9.30am on the day of the absence.  Parents may do this by phoning the school, using the absence form on Audiri or emailing the school heywood.cs@education.vic.gov.au.

If we have not received an absence notification by this time, we will phone parents or an emergency contacts to account for the student’s whereabouts.
